
In one of the villages of Lviv district, a 40-year-old local resident became embroiled in a conflict with a 47-year-old resident of a neighbouring village, which ended in a fight and a shot fired at a car. This was reported by the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
The incident took place on 9 May. After a verbal altercation and a fight, the younger of the participants took a hunting rifle and fired at an Audi Q5 belonging to his opponent. No people were injured as a result of the incident, but the vehicle sustained technical damage.
The man was identified by officers of the criminal police, investigators and employees of other units of Police Department No. 2 of the Lviv District Police Directorate. Law enforcement officers detained him under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and seized the weapon from which the shot had been fired.
The pre-trial investigation was conducted under the procedural guidance of the Zhovkva District Prosecutor’s Office under Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (hooliganism). The indictment has now been sent to the court for consideration.
Under the article he is charged with, the accused faces a sentence of imprisonment for a term of three to seven years.
