
In Zolochiv, in the Lviv region, an indictment has been submitted to court against a 69-year-old resident of Zolochiv district, who is accused of the unauthorised occupation of municipal land within the city’s historic area and the construction of a permanent structure without the necessary permits.
According to the investigation, in 2024 the man unlawfully occupied part of a land plot with an area of 0.0112 ha, which is in the municipal ownership of Zolochiv City Council and is located near Shashkevycha Street in the district centre of Zolochiv.
Without any documents granting the right to use or own this plot, which is located in a protected zone within the historic area of the city of Zolochiv in Lviv region, and also without permits for carrying out construction works, the accused built a permanent structure on it and an extension to that structure.
The violation was uncovered by criminal police operatives and investigators of the Zolochiv District Police Department under the procedural guidance of the Zolochiv District Prosecutor’s Office. The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings initiated under Part 4 of Article 197-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (unauthorised occupation of a land plot and unauthorised construction) has been completed, and the indictment has been submitted to the court.
Under the article he is charged with, the accused faces a sentence of imprisonment for a term of one to three years.
