In the village of Velykyi Doroshiv in Lviv district, an 82 mm mortar shell dating back to the Second World War was discovered in an open area. A report about the dangerous find reached the Rescue Service “101” on 12 October.
A community rescue officer was dispatched to the scene, who identified the explosive device and organised the necessary safety measures until the specialists arrived.
EOD specialists from the Interregional Rapid Response Centre of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine removed the munition and destroyed it in the prescribed manner.
Rescuers stress that if suspicious objects are found, they must not be touched, moved or tampered with. You should move to a safe distance and immediately report the find by calling 101 or 102.
