Yavoriv District Prosecutor’s Office has secured the termination of a disputed contract for major road repairs in Yavoriv, which has made it possible to prevent the potential unlawful use of more than UAH 13 million of budget funds. This was reported by the prosecutor’s office.
Prosecutors established that a contract for major repairs of a road on one of Yavoriv’s streets had been concluded between Yavoriv City Council and a limited liability company. The works were carried out only up to 2024, and in 2025–2026 they were neither performed nor financed due to a lack of budget funds.
Despite this, the parties did not reduce the scope of works and did not terminate the contract, but instead concluded an additional agreement extending the deadline for the fulfilment of obligations by another year, even though funding in the amount of over UAH 13 million had not been provided for.
In order to protect the interests of the state, prosecutors filed a claim with the court seeking to have this additional agreement declared invalid. After the court opened proceedings, the parties voluntarily terminated the disputed contract, whereupon the court closed the proceedings in the case.
The prosecutor’s office notes that thanks to the representative measures taken, it was possible to prevent the unlawful use of more than UAH 13 million of budget funds under a transaction concluded in breach of legal requirements.
