In the Lviv region, an intensive search is under way for 77-year-old Yaroslav Kikot, a resident of Staryi Sambir, who went missing on 21 July at around 14:20 in the village of Lypnyky in Lviv district.
According to law enforcement officers, Yaroslav Kikot is a former footballer for the clubs Karpaty and Shakhtar, and later a youth coach who trained more than one generation of footballers. He was last seen in Lypnyky.
The search involves officers of Police Department No. 3 of Lviv District Police Administration No. 2 and the Criminal Analysis Directorate of Lviv Region Police, staff of the State Emergency Service in Lviv region, dog handlers with service dogs, volunteers and local residents. Quad bikes and drones are being used to survey the area.
Distinguishing features of the missing man: 77 years old, about 175 cm tall, of average build, with short grey hair. He was wearing a dark brown jumper, green trousers and slippers. The man may be disoriented and may not remember his place of residence.
The police are working through all available operational information and responding to every report regarding the possible whereabouts of Yaroslav Kikot, but so far none of the reports has been confirmed.
