77-year-old Yaroslav Kikoty from Staryi Sambir missing in Lviv region

In the Lviv region, search operations are under way for 77-year-old Yaroslav Kikoty from Staryi Sambir, who went missing on 21 July at around 14:20. The man was last seen in the village of Lypnyky in Lviv district.

In the past, Yaroslav Kikoty was a well-known footballer for the clubs Karpaty and Shakhtar, and later worked as a youth coach, training more than one generation of footballers.

The search for the Staryi Sambir resident involves officers of Police Department No. 3 of Lviv District Police Directorate No. 2, personnel of the State Emergency Service in Lviv region, dog handlers with service dogs, volunteers and concerned members of the public. Quad bikes and drones are being used to survey the area.

Description of the missing man: 77 years old, about 175 centimetres tall, of medium build, with short grey hair. He was wearing a dark brown jumper, green trousers and slippers. According to available information, the man may be disoriented and may not remember his place of residence.

Law enforcement officers are asking anyone who has any information about the possible whereabouts of Yaroslav Kikoty to call the emergency line 102. The information was released by the Sambir District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv region.
