Court in Lviv region to hear case over transport of untaxed cartridges across border

An indictment has been submitted to court against a man suspected of illegally transporting excisable cartridges across the Ukrainian-Polish border. This was reported on the basis of materials from the Territorial Department of the Bureau of Economic Security in Lviv region.

According to the investigation, the suspect, who was not registered as an entrepreneur and did not have a licence to trade in tobacco products, purchased in Poland cartridges for electronic cigarettes without excise stamps.

During an in-depth inspection of the car at the Krakivets – Korczowa checkpoint, customs officers found 456 packs, each containing two cartridges. In total, 912 units of product were seized.

The actions of the accused have been classified under Part 1 of Article 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, and the indictment has been submitted to the court.

Procedural supervision in the proceedings was carried out by prosecutors of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, with operational support provided by staff of Lviv Customs.
