In Lviv region, an indictment has been submitted to court against six members of an organised group accused of illegally running gambling activities online without a licence for almost two years.
According to the investigation, the scheme was set up by two residents of Lviv region and a Kyiv resident. They involved four more accomplices in the unlawful activity. The group members accepted bets and provided access to online gambling without the licence required by law.
The pre-trial investigation was completed by detectives of the Territorial Department of the Bureau of Economic Security in Lviv region. The indictment against the six individuals involved has been sent to court, while the case materials concerning another participant, who has been declared wanted, have been separated into a standalone proceeding.
Procedural supervision in the criminal proceedings was carried out by prosecutors of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, with operational support provided by officers of the Strategic Investigations Department in Lviv region of the Strategic Investigations Department of the National Police of Ukraine.
