In Lviv region, the pre-trial investigation has been completed in respect of a local resident accused of the unlawful purchase and storage for the purpose of sale of counterfeit alcohol. An indictment has been sent to court by detectives of the Territorial Department of the BEB in Lviv region under the procedural guidance of prosecutors of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
According to the investigation, the man was not registered as a business entity and did not have licences for the production and sale of alcoholic beverages. Despite this, during August – October 2025, he allegedly unlawfully purchased and stored for the purpose of sale ethyl alcohol and alcoholic beverages without excise tax stamps.
During searches of residential and non-residential premises, BEB detectives seized nine 200-litre barrels containing a liquid with a strong smell of alcohol. In addition, a further 35 tetrapaks of unlabelled alcoholic products were found in the suspect’s vehicle.
The actions of the accused have been classified under Part 1 of Article 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine as unlawful production, storage and sale of excisable goods. The final measure of liability will be determined by the court.
