In one of the villages of the Lviv district on 13 July at around 20:15, a road traffic collision involving a pedestrian occurred. This was reported by Police Department No. 3 of Lviv District Police Department No. 2.
According to preliminary information, a 32-year-old driver of a KIA NIRO, a local resident, ran into his 46-year-old fellow villager. The woman was crossing the carriageway at a pedestrian crossing.
As a result of the collision, the pedestrian sustained bodily injuries and was taken to hospital for medical treatment.
Investigators have opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of road traffic safety rules). The article provides for a penalty of up to three years’ restriction of liberty with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for the same period.
Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
