On the road connecting Lviv and Bryukhovychi, a passenger vehicle driver moved into the oncoming lane while overtaking and created a hazardous situation. The incident came to light after a video was monitored on social media.
According to law enforcement officers, the 65-year-old driver did not make sure before starting the overtaking manoeuvre that the oncoming lane was free of other vehicles at a sufficient distance. Such actions violate the requirements of paragraph 14.2 of the Traffic Rules of Ukraine.
The driver was issued a report under Part 5 of Article 122 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offences — creating a hazardous situation. The police remind drivers of the need to strictly comply with the Highway Code and to take into account the safety of other road users.
