Over the 24-hour period from 2 to 3 August in the Lviv region, firefighters were called out 16 times to tackle fires of various types. Of these, 10 outbreaks occurred in natural ecosystems, affecting a total area of around 3,000 sq. m.
The Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Lviv region urges citizens to follow fire safety rules: do not burn dry vegetation or rubbish, do not leave open fires unattended and avoid careless handling of fire.
Rescuers emphasise that such actions will help protect people’s lives and health, as well as property, since it is easier to prevent fires than to deal with their consequences.
