Over the 24-hour period from 26 to 27 August in the Lviv region, rescuers responded to 25 call-outs to extinguish fires. Outbreaks were recorded in different districts of the region and varied in nature.
According to the State Emergency Service in the Lviv region, a significant proportion were fires in natural ecosystems — 11 such incidents were recorded. Firefighters swiftly brought the flames under control and prevented the further spread of the fire.
The rescue service stresses that even a small ignition can quickly escalate into a large-scale fire under adverse conditions. Human carelessness is often the cause: careless handling of fire, burning dry vegetation or leaving a source of fire unattended.
Rescuers urge residents of the region to take their own safety seriously and to comply with fire safety rules, as the safety of people, homes and the environment depends on everyone paying attention. If a fire is detected, you must immediately call 101.
