In Lviv region over the past day, rescuers extinguished 27 fires, of which 19 outbreaks occurred in ecosystems. Thanks to the firefighters’ actions, the destruction by fire of seven buildings was prevented.
Emergency services stress that it is easier to prevent fires than to deal with their consequences. Citizens are urged not to burn dry vegetation, not to light campfires in hazardous places, not to discard unextinguished cigarette ends and to follow fire safety rules at home.
The State Emergency Service emphasises that it operates around the clock, but personal safety depends on the responsible behaviour of each individual.
