Over the past 24 hours, 14 fires have been recorded in the Lviv region, including 7 outbreaks in natural ecosystems. Firefighters managed to prevent three buildings and two tonnes of hay from being destroyed by the flames. According to the State Emergency Service, no one was injured.
Emergency services remind the public that a fire often starts with a small act of carelessness, but its consequences can be significant. Particularly dangerous is the burning of dry grass and vegetation, as well as leaving open flames unattended.
Rescuers are calling on residents to strictly follow fire safety rules and not to provoke fires in natural ecosystems. SES units are on duty around the clock, but they emphasise that the best fire is the one that has been prevented.
