In the Lviv region, 14 fires were recorded over the course of a day, including 8 outbreaks in natural ecosystems. Rescuers are appealing to residents of the region to be extremely careful with fire in open areas.
Specialists urge people not to burn dry vegetation and rubbish, not to leave campfires unattended and not to throw cigarette ends onto dry grass. In dry and windy weather, even a small flame can spread quickly and turn into a large-scale fire.
Rescuers stress the need to follow fire safety rules and to treat nature with care.
