Over the past 24 hours, 14 wildfires have been recorded in the territory of the Lviv region. The total area of scorched land from these fires has reached almost 2 hectares.
Such fires pose a significant danger, as the flames can spread to forest areas, farm buildings, residential houses and other facilities located near open spaces. In addition, thick smoke from the burning worsens air quality and creates a threat to people.
Rescuers urge citizens not to burn dry vegetation, rubbish and plant waste in open areas, not to leave campfires unextinguished and not to throw cigarette ends into the grass. Even a small source of fire, under favourable conditions, can turn into a large-scale blaze within minutes.
Experts emphasise that following fire safety rules and treating nature with care helps prevent fires and protect the environment.
