
In one of the villages of the Lviv district, a 40-year-old local resident fired several shots from a hunting rifle at his opponent’s Audi Q5 during a conflict. As a result of the incident, no one was injured, and the vehicle sustained technical damage.
The incident occurred on 9 May at around 17:00. According to law enforcement officers, the conflict arose between a 40-year-old resident of this village and a 47-year-old resident of one of the neighbouring villages. During the argument, the local man opened fire on the car belonging to his opponent.
To establish all the circumstances, officers from the criminal police, investigators and staff from other units of Police Department No. 2 of the Lviv District Police Directorate were involved, under the procedural supervision of the Zhovkva District Prosecutor’s Office. The shooter was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, and the weapon used in the shooting was seized from him.
The court found the man guilty of committing a criminal offence under Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (hooliganism), and sentenced him to four years’ imprisonment. At the same time, he was released from serving the sentence, subject to a probationary period of one year.
