Near the town of Skole in the Stryi district, two tourists who were climbing Parashka mountain got lost in the evening. The incident was reported to the emergency service “101” on 3 October at 20:31.
It is noted that the people who got lost were a man and a woman. Mountain rescuers were involved in the search operation and managed to find the tourists and lead them out of the forest area to a safe place.
According to the State Emergency Service in Lviv region, the rescued people did not require medical assistance. After being rescued, they thanked the rescuers and wrote in their message that they were very glad that in the middle of the night there are professionals who can find and guide out of the forest those who have lost their way.
“We are happy that we will be sleeping in a bed and not in the forest,” the tourists wrote.
The State Emergency Service in Lviv region reminds people that before setting off into the mountains, you should plan your route in advance, follow the weather forecast, have a charged phone and appropriate equipment. If you get lost, you should not panic – stay where you are and call 101 or 112.
