Prosecutors of the Specialised Defence Prosecutor’s Office of the Western Region proved in the Court of Appeal the illegality of the alienation of a property in Skole, Lviv region, which was transferred to third parties contrary to the interests of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
The court upheld the position of the prosecutor’s office and cancelled the decision of the court of first instance to dismiss the prosecutor’s claim and issued a new ruling.
The prosecutors established that the premises with an area of over 400 square metres and an estimated market value of over UAH 20 million were owned by a military concern until December 2008, but were then resold several times.
The prosecutors are currently taking measures to enforce the court decision in order to return the property to the defence ministry.
