At the Hruszów customs post a carrier tried to bribe a female inspector

At the Hruszów customs post on the Ukrainian-Polish border, a 37-year-old carrier from Volyn tried to offer an unlawful benefit to a customs officer in order to speed up the clearance of vehicles.

It was established that while processing three cars, the man put money into his passport, offering it to the inspector as an unlawful benefit for faster customs clearance.

The customs service reports that the employee immediately informed the internal control department of the Lviv Customs, after which the information was passed on to law enforcement agencies.

Criminal proceedings have been initiated in this regard under Part 1 of Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — “Offering, promising or giving an unlawful benefit to an official”.

It is emphasised that both parties bear responsibility for corrupt actions — both the person who provides the unlawful benefit and the official who agrees to accept it.
