Road traffic collision involving an overturned vehicle occurred on 28 October at around 05:50 on the “Western bypass of the city of Lviv” motorway.
According to preliminary police reports, the driver of a Renault Kangoo, a 54-year-old resident of Ternopil region, lost control of the vehicle, after which it left the carriageway, went into a ditch and overturned.
As a result of the collision, the Renault driver and his 57-year-old passenger, who is also from Ternopil region, sustained bodily injuries. Both were taken to hospital for medical treatment.
Investigators have opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of road safety regulations). The article provides for a penalty of up to three years’ restriction of liberty with disqualification from driving for the same period.
Police officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
