At the Ugryniv border crossing point, border guards of the 7th Carpathian Border Detachment together with customs officers discovered a consignment of undeclared silver with a total weight of 7.7 kg.
During an inspection of a Mercedes car driven by a 36-year-old resident of Volyn region, inspectors found a specially equipped hiding place under the front passenger seats. The cache contained silver jewellery.
According to the border guards, the driver was transporting this consignment to Volyn region. The estimated value of the undeclared items is more than 800,000 UAH.
Customs officers drew up a report on the violation, and the silver discovered was seized and placed in the customs warehouse.
