The road accident occurred on 16 February, at around 08.50, on the Lviv-Sambir-Uzhhorod motorway near the village of Luky, Sambir district.
As law enforcement officers have preliminarily established, the driver of a Fiat Doblo, a 66-year-old resident of a village in Sambir district, hit a pedestrian, a 43-year-old resident of the district.
As a result of the accident, the woman was injured and hospitalised.
Investigators of the Sambir District Police Department opened criminal proceedings over the incident under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of the rules of road safety) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided by the sanction of the article is up to three years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
