In Sambir District, police arrested a 24-year-old resident of Sambir who seriously injured a passenger on the “Lviv-Sianky” electric train service. The incident occurred on 7th April, at around 21:55, during transit near the village of Pidhaychyky.
According to preliminary information from law enforcement, an altercation arose between a 33-year-old resident of the Sambir district and another passenger, resulting in one participant sustaining serious bodily injuries. The victim was hospitalised, and the perpetrator was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
Investigators, supported by the Sambir District Prosecutor’s Office, have initiated a criminal case under the article concerning intentional grievous bodily harm. The penalty for this offence ranges from five to eight years of imprisonment.
The investigation is ongoing, with the criminal investigation department, detectives, and other staff from the Sambir District Police Department involved in the case.
