In the village of Stara Sil in Sambir district, a fire broke out in a wooden residential house, during which the 68-year-old owner of the property died.
On 13 September at 06:08, rescuers received a report of a house fire in Stara Sil. Firefighters from Staryi Sambir and the village’s local fire brigade were dispatched to the scene.
By the time the State Emergency Service units arrived, the house was already completely engulfed in flames and there was a risk that the fire could spread to two neighbouring residential buildings. Due to heavy smoke, the rescuers worked in breathing and eye protection apparatus.
The fire was contained at 07:14 and fully extinguished at 08:09. During the firefighting operation, the body of the 68-year-old owner was found inside the house.
Law enforcement agencies are establishing the causes of the fire and the circumstances of the incident.
