On Mount Parashka in the Stryi district, a 58-year-old man died during a hiking trip. Information about the incident was received by rescuers on 8 August at 17:22.
It was reported that the tourist, who was in the mountains, suddenly lost consciousness, so assistance was needed to transport him to an ambulance.
Rescuers from the mountain search and rescue unit in the town of Slavske headed to the scene. While they were on their way to the mountain, the man’s condition worsened — he stopped breathing.
The tourist’s wife, together with other holidaymakers who were nearby, began cardiopulmonary resuscitation. However, despite the measures taken, it was not possible to save the man.
The rescuers transported the body of the deceased using a stretcher mounted on a quad bike to the foot of Mount Parashka, where medics pronounced the tourist dead.
