
In the early hours of 27 July, a fatal road traffic collision involving a car and a motorcycle occurred in one of the villages of Stryi district. This was reported under the procedural supervision of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
According to the investigation, a 24-year-old woman driving a Skoda Fabia, while making a left turn to enter a courtyard, failed to give way to an oncoming motorcycle, resulting in a collision between the vehicles.
There were two minors on the motorcycle. The 17-year-old resident of Novyi Rozdil who was riding the motorcycle died at the scene. His 14-year-old sister, a passenger on the motorcycle, sustained moderate injuries and was taken to a medical facility.
A pre-trial investigation has been launched under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine over a violation of road safety regulations that led to a person’s death. Priority investigative actions are ongoing, and the investigation is being conducted by investigators from the Investigative Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv region.
