A traffic accident occurred on May 25, at about 8.30 pm, on Zavadka Street in the village of Yavora, Sambir district
According to police, a FOSTI 21 motorcycle driven by a 19-year-old local man collided with a bicycle driven by a 13-year-old resident of the same village.
As a result of the accident, the motorcyclist and cyclist were injured and hospitalized. Unfortunately, despite the efforts of doctors, the girl died of her injuries at the hospital. The driver of the motorcycle is in intensive care.
Investigators of the Department for Investigation of Crimes in the Sphere of Transport of the Lviv Region Police opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article envisages punishment – imprisonment for a term of three to eight years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years or without such.
A pre-trial investigation is underway, law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
