Under the procedural supervision of the Stryi District Prosecutor’s Office, a 43-year-old native of Ivano-Frankivsk region was served a notice of suspicion. He is charged with intentional grievous bodily harm that caused the victim’s death (Part 2 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, in June this year, in one of the villages of Stryi district, the suspect beat his 54-year-old friend to death.
That day, the friends were drinking alcohol together in the victim’s house. During the feast, a domestic conflict arose between them, during which the defendant began punching and kicking the man’s body.
The man died at the scene from his serious injuries.
At the request of the prosecutor, the suspect was chosen as a measure of restraint in the form of detention.
The pre-trial investigation is being carried out by investigators of the Police Department No. 3 of the Stryi District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv Region.
Note: In accordance with Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person shall be presumed innocent of committing a crime and shall not be subjected to criminal punishment until his or her guilt is proved by law and established by a court verdict of guilty.
