
In the Lviv region, suspects will face trial for illegally acquiring budget funds amounting to over 600,000 hryvnias.
Engaging in criminal conspiracy, a mother and two entrepreneurs split payments for non-existent services through the ‘Municipal Nanny’ program. As law enforcement agencies found during the pre-trial investigation, a 30-year-old resident of the Stryi district submitted fake documents claiming serious diseases of her minor sons and concluded a fake contract with an entrepreneurial couple ‘On providing childcare services for a child under three years old – Municipal Nanny’.
Based on this, the mother obtained reimbursement for non-existent nanny services purportedly looking after sick children. The fraudsters subsequently divided the money among themselves. The total damage to the state budget amounts to over 600,000 hryvnias.
The pre-trial investigation is completed. Indictments have been submitted to the court for consideration. The mother of the allegedly sick children faces criminal charges under Part 3 of Article 190 (Fraud) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, Part 5 of Article 27, Part 1 of Article 358 (Complicity in forging official documents, stamps, seals, and forms, distributing or using forged documents, stamps, seals) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, and Parts 3 and 4 of Article 358 (Forgery of documents, stamps, seals and forms, distribution or use of forged documents, stamps, seals) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The entrepreneurs face criminal charges under Parts 2 and 3 of Article 190 (Fraud) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and Part 3 of Article 358 (Forgery of documents, stamps, seals and forms, distribution or use of forged documents, stamps, seals) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The businesswoman faces an additional charge under Part 5 of Article 27, Part 1 of Article 358 (Complicity in forging official documents, stamps, seals, and forms, distributing or using forged documents, stamps, seals) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The maximum penalty provided by the sanctions of the articles is imprisonment for up to five years. The criminals were exposed by operatives from the criminal police and investigators of the police department No. 3 of the Stryi District Police Department, under the procedural guidance of the Stryi District Prosecutor’s Office.
