In the village of Dolishnie in Stryi district, a fire broke out in a wooden outbuilding, as a result of which the 59-year-old owner of the property died. This was reported by the Rescue Service.
The fire in the summer kitchen occurred on 22 June, with the call to the rescuers received at 04:53. When the firefighters arrived at the scene, the wooden building was already completely engulfed in flames, and the fire was threatening the residential house located nearby.
Due to heavy smoke, the rescuers worked in special breathing and eye protection apparatus. While extinguishing the fire, they discovered the body of the deceased man, who turned out to be the 59-year-old owner of the property.
The fire was contained at 05:21 and fully extinguished at 05:40. Four rescuers and one unit of special equipment were involved in tackling the blaze.
Experts are establishing the causes and circumstances of the fire.
