In Stryshchyna, the police arrested an intruder who stole a box for collecting funds for the Armed Forces

We would like to remind you that in the conditions of martial law, maximum punishment is provided for theft, robbery, robbery, extortion and looting.

On November 13, around 9:00 a.m., the police received a report that an unknown person had stolen a collection box from one of the catering establishments in Stryi region.

An investigative and operative group and other employees of the Stryi district police department worked at the scene of the incident. As the law enforcement officers established, the box contained funds intended for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Through the conducted measures, with the help of video surveillance cameras located within the framework of the “Safe Lviv Region” program, operatives of the criminal police established the whereabouts of the intruder and detained him in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. He turned out to be a 71-year-old resident of Ternopil. Soon the court will choose a preventive measure for him.

According to the fact, the investigators of the territorial division of the police opened criminal proceedings under Part 4 of Article 185 (Theft) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum punishment provided for by the sanction of the article is up to eight years of imprisonment.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
