In the Stryi region, a 38-year-old resident of a resort village is to be tried for seizing part of a neighbour’s land plot without any legal documents and starting the construction of a cottage on it. The man set up a canopy and brought in building materials without having the necessary permits for construction.
The accused unlawfully occupied a land plot of 0.0162 hectares, which has a legal owner. He was exposed by criminal police operatives in collaboration with investigators and officers from other services of police department No. 3 of the Stryi District Police Department, under the procedural guidance of the Stryi District Prosecutor’s Office.
The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings, opened under part 3 of article 197-1 (Unauthorised occupation of a land plot and unauthorised construction) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, has been completed. The indictment has been sent to court for consideration. For the offence committed, the perpetrator faces a penalty of a fine ranging from one thousand to four thousand tax-free minimum incomes of citizens, or probation supervision for up to three years, or restriction of liberty for the same period.
