A tragic road accident occurred in the Lviv region, resulting in the death of a cyclist.
The accident happened on November 26 at around 17:50 near the village of Dobriany in the Stryi district. According to preliminary data, the driver of a Nissan X-Trail, a 63-year-old resident of Stryi, struck the cyclist, a 34-year-old woman from the Stryi district.
As a result of the accident, the woman sustained serious injuries and, despite the efforts of medical personnel, died in the ambulance.
Investigators from the transport crime investigation department of the Lviv region police have opened a criminal case under part 2 of article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment from three to eight years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years or without such.
Law enforcement officers are continuing to establish the circumstances of the incident.
