Investigators from the transport crime investigation department of the Lviv Oblast police are working at the scene, establishing all the circumstances and verifying the data of the accident participants.
The traffic accident happened today, May 10, around 7:40 p.m., on the highway “Kyiv-Chop” near the village of Rozvadiv, Stryi district.
As previously established by law enforcement officers, a Volkswagen Touran car, driven by a 42-year-old resident of Stryi district, collided with a Renault truck driven by a 45-year-old resident of Zaporozhye.
The car driver and her two daughters, approximately four and six years old, died at the scene of the injuries sustained as a result of the accident. In addition, the 15-year-old passenger of the car and the driver of the truck were injured.
The issue of opening criminal proceedings under Part 3 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules or operation of transport by persons driving vehicles, which caused the death of several persons) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine is being resolved. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of five to ten years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years.
