A pedestrian was killed by a car in Lviv region – police are establishing the circumstances of the incident
The road accident occurred on 15 November, around 19.00, near the village of Trostyanets, Stryi district.
Law enforcement officers have preliminarily established that the driver of a Chevrolet, a 30-year-old resident of Kyiv, hit a pedestrian, a 64-year-old local resident.
The man died at the scene from the injuries sustained in the accident.
Investigators of the Transport Crimes Investigation Department of the Lviv Regional Police opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of the rules of road safety) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of three to eight years with or without deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
