The traffic accident occurred on March 22, around 3:40 p.m., on the Stryi-Drohobych highway in the village of Nezhukhiv, Stryi district.
As previously determined by the law enforcement officers, the driver of the Opel Vivaro car, a 54-year-old resident of Truskavets, hit a cyclist, a 71-year-old resident of one of the villages of the Stryi district.
As a result of the accident, the driver of the two-wheeler was injured and hospitalized.
According to the fact, investigators of the Stryi district police department opened criminal proceedings under part 1 of article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty stipulated by the article is up to three years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of up to three years.
