Law enforcement officers once again appeal to citizens – be as attentive and careful as possible while at railway stations, cross the tracks only in the prescribed months, making sure that there is no train.
The traffic accident happened on March 23, around 10:20 p.m., in the village of Bryntsi Tserkovni, Stryi district.
As previously established by the law enforcement officers, a diesel locomotive moving in the direction of Lviv hit a 65-year-old local woman who was crossing the railway track.
The elderly woman died at the scene from her injuries.
According to the fact, the investigators of the police department No. 1 of the Stryi district police department opened criminal proceedings under part 3 of article 276 (Violation of traffic safety rules or operation of railway, water or air transport) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of five to ten years.
Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
