Two people were injured in an accident in Lviv region – police are establishing the circumstances of the incident
The accident occurred on 12 September, at around 11.40 a.m., on the Medenychi-Lviv motorway in the village of Velyka Horohanna, Stryi district.
Law enforcement officers have preliminarily established that the driver of a Daewoo Sens, a 25-year-old resident of Drohobych, lost control, drove off the roadway and into a concrete bridge.
As a result of the accident, the driver and his passenger, a 21-year-old resident of a village in Yavoriv district, were injured and hospitalised.
Investigators at Police Department No. 2 of the Stryi District Police Department opened a criminal investigation into the incident under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of the rules of road safety) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided for by the sanction of the article is restraint of liberty for up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
