A tragic road traffic accident occurred in the Lviv region, resulting in the death of an elderly cyclist.
The incident took place on October 26 around 5:45 PM in the village of Dobryany, Stryi district. According to preliminary data, the driver of a Nissan Qashqai, a 70-year-old resident of Odesa, hit an 82-year-old cyclist, a resident of Stryi.
As a result of the accident, the cyclist sustained bodily injuries and was hospitalized. Despite the efforts of medical professionals, he died in the hospital.
Lviv region police investigators have opened a criminal case under part 2 of article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. **The article’s sanction** provides for imprisonment from three to eight years.
