
Two people were injured in a road traffic collision on the Kyiv–Chop motorway in Lviv district.
The crash occurred on 20 July at around 20:10 in the village of Hamaliivka, Lviv district. According to preliminary police reports, a Renault Magnum lorry driven by a 62-year-old resident of Drohobych collided with a Volkswagen Transporter minibus driven by a 76-year-old Lviv resident.
On impact, the minibus overturned. The driver of the minibus and his passenger, a 72-year-old woman from Lviv, sustained bodily injuries. The casualties were taken to a medical facility.
Investigators from Police Station No.1 of Lviv District Police Department No.1 have opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – violation of road traffic safety rules. The article provides for a penalty of up to three years of restricted liberty with disqualification from driving for up to three years.
Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
