
On 24 July at around 13:10 on the Kyiv–Chop highway in the village of Zapytiv, Lviv district, a road traffic collision occurred in which a cyclist was injured.
According to preliminary information from law enforcement officers, the driver of a KIA Ceed, a 27-year-old resident of Zaporizhzhia, hit a cyclist, a 64-year-old resident of Lviv district.
As a result of the collision, the rider of the two-wheeler sustained bodily injuries and was taken to hospital.
Investigators from police station No.1 of Lviv District Police Department No.1 have opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of road safety regulations). The sanction under this article provides for a penalty of up to three years’ restriction of liberty with disqualification from driving vehicles for up to three years.
The police are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
