On the Lviv–Ivano-Frankivsk highway near the village of Zalisia in Lviv district, a road traffic collision occurred at around 19:00 on 7 July, in which two drivers were injured. This was reported by the Lviv District Police Department.
According to preliminary information from law enforcement officers, the vehicles involved were a Toyota RAV4 driven by a 46-year-old Lviv resident and a Volkswagen Golf driven by a 32-year-old resident of Lviv district.
As a result of the collision, both drivers sustained bodily injuries and were taken to hospital for medical treatment.
Investigators from Police Station No. 3 of Lviv District Police Department No. 2 have opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – violation of road traffic safety rules. The article provides for a penalty of up to three years’ restriction of liberty with disqualification from driving vehicles for the same period.
Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
