A serious road accident occurred on the evening of December 17 in Lviv region, leaving two young men injured. The incident took place around 6:00 p.m. on the “Zhovkva–Sheptytskyi–Kovel” highway, between the towns of Velyki Mosty and Boyanets in the Sheptytskyi district.
According to preliminary reports by law enforcement, the crash involved an Audi A4 driven by an 18-year-old resident of the Sheptytskyi district and a MAN truck operated by a 52-year-old man from Lviv.
As a result of the accident, the following individuals sustained injuries:
- the driver of the Audi A4;
- his passenger, also an 18-year-old local resident.
Both victims were hospitalized with bodily injuries. Their medical condition is being assessed.
Investigators from Police Division No. 2 of the Sheptytskyi District Police Department have launched a criminal proceeding under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — violation of road safety rules.
The legal consequences include:
- up to three years of restricted freedom;
- potential revocation of driving privileges for up to three years.
Police are currently working to clarify all circumstances surrounding the accident.
