An illegal scheme of embezzling over a million hryvnias in combat payments has been uncovered in Volyn, involving four military officials and a soldier.
Law enforcement officers exposed four servicemen – two battalion commanders and two staff chiefs of one military unit. They organized a scheme for the illegal accrual of combat payments.
“At various times while in their positions, they falsified information in combat orders and reports”, justifying the alleged participation of one soldier in combat missions in Kharkiv region.
Based on these falsified documents, the soldier was unlawfully credited with over a million hryvnias in financial support, bonuses, and additional rewards. In reality, it was established that the soldier did not actually perform any duties and was away from the units temporary location.
“They have been notified of the suspicion of abuse of power”. The procedural guidance is conducted by the Volyn special prosecutor’s office in the defense sphere of the Western region.
