
In a wooded area near a lake in the village of Ternovytsia, Yavoriv district, on 20 June at around 17:05, a road traffic collision occurred in which a six-year-old boy was injured.
According to preliminary information, a 66-year-old driver of a Volkswagen Touran, a resident of Yavoriv, hit a pedestrian – a six-year-old resident of the town of Novoyavorivsk in Yavoriv district.
As a result of the collision, the child sustained bodily injuries and was taken to hospital. Law enforcement officers are currently establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
Investigators from the unit for criminal proceedings involving children of the Lviv region police have opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – violation of road traffic safety rules.
The sanction of this article provides for a penalty of up to three years’ restriction of liberty with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for the same period.
