In the Lviv region, the police detained an intruder suspected of causing a fatal injury to his brother
It was preliminarily established that a conflict arose between the brothers, during which the detainee punched the relative in the face, causing fatal bodily injury.
On April 20, around 10:20 a.m., the police received a report from medics that a man’s body with signs of violent death was found in a house in one of the villages of the Yavoriv district.
The investigative-operational group and employees of other services of the Yavoriv district police department, as well as forensic specialists of the Lviv region police, immediately went to the scene of the incident. On the body of the deceased, a 36-year-old local resident, experts found injuries, in particular, a hematoma on the face.
As the law enforcement officers established, the previous evening, around 11:00 p.m., a conflict arose between the brothers aged 30 and 36, during which the younger one hit the older one in the head, causing him to fall to the ground. After that, the intruder went to bed, and in the morning he found his brother dead.
He was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Soon the court will choose a preventive measure for him.
Investigators of the territorial division of the police, under the procedural guidance of the Yavoriv District Prosecutor’s Office, informed the detainee of the suspicion of committing a crime, provided for in Part 2 of Article 121 (Intentional grievous bodily harm) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of seven to ten years.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
