Police serve suspicion notice of hooliganism to offender who shot at fellow villagers in Yavoriv district
A 56-year-old resident of the village of Ivano-Frankove fired six shots from a device for firing rubber bullets, injuring a local resident. He faces up to seven years in prison for his crime.
As established by criminal police operatives together with investigators of the Yavoriv District Police Department, the incident occurred on 7 July at around 1.30 am in the village of Ivano-Frankove.
The offender, a 56-year-old local resident, came out of his house and fired six shots from a PMR rubber bullet device in the direction of a group of people who, in his opinion, were violating the ceasefire. In doing so, he injured one of them.
Law enforcers seized the weapon and served the “shooter” a notice of suspicion of committing a criminal offence under Part 4 of Article 296 (Hooliganism) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The article provides for imprisonment for a term of three to seven years.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
