Law enforcement officers found that a 31-year-old resident of Yavoriv and a 28-year-old resident of a village in Yavoriv district were selling drugs and psychotropic substances to local residents.
They face imprisonment for up to ten years with confiscation of property.
The criminals were exposed by criminal police operatives and investigators of the Yavoriv District Police Department under the supervision of the Yavoriv District Prosecutor’s Office.
It was established that the dealers distributed prohibited substances from hand to hand. The police documented the facts of selling drugs and psychotropics, and during authorised searches found and seized substances similar to “cannabis” and “amphetamines”, which were sent for examination to the Lviv Scientific Research Forensic Centre of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
One of the offenders, a resident of the district centre, was served a notice of suspicion of committing criminal offences under Part 1 and Part 2 of Art. 307 (Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, shipment or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the other – of committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 307 (Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, shipment or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The maximum penalty facing the suspects is imprisonment for up to ten years with confiscation of property.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and the court will soon choose a measure of restraint.
